Our History

Stephen J. Wessling started Wessling Architects in the basement of his home over 30 years ago. His career began in the fall of 1965 when he attended his first school for architectural and structural engineering. Stephen received his Bachelor of Architecture from Boston Architectural College in 1975, graduating second in his class and received his Certificate in Architectural and Structural Engineering from Weymouth Vocational Technical High School Post Graduate Program, where he graduated at the top of his class.

Over the past 55 years in the architectural profession he has been involved with all aspects and types of architectural buildings. Stephen excelled at understanding the technical complexities of building, especially building exterior problem identification, problem solving and preventing problems as an envelope and roofing consultant. Stephen is one of four local firms who founded the New England Chapter of Roof Consultants Institute when the RCI when the national organization agreed to include building facades in addition to roofing.
