Job Captain

Type of Employment: Full Time
Experience Level: 5 - 9 years, or applicable experience
Location: Quincy, MA

Wessling Architects is an award winning, Quincy based firm that is looking for a job captain with 5 - 9 years of experience to join our team. Candidates should have a BArch 5 - year or a MArch 3 - year degree (or relevant equivalent) and have the skills necessary to coordinate a team and produce successful projects from conception to completion.

The scope and types of work that Wessling Architects takes on is varied and includes new buildings, interior design, historic restoration, and building envelope technologies and forensics. Equally diverse are the clients we serve - commercial, industrial, educational institutions, public entities, non-profit organizations, and other members of the building profession. Our firm environment is perfect for a candidate looking for exposure to a wide array of experiences and professional growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate must also:

  • Lead in the production of project documentation including but limited to site surveys, drawings for all phases of a project, written specifications, submittals, etc.

  • Understand and apply required codes, company and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to manage project scope, budget, and schedule.

  • Possess strong knowledge of building technology, product application, and detailing.

  • Exhibit strong self-initiative and drive.

  • Have proven proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

  • Be familiar with Bluebeam, Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup, and InDesign. Revit proficiency a plus.

  • Coordinate and maintain the quality of workmanship throughout the duration of a project.

  • Be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and demands of multiple projects.

  • Provide leadership for, and communicate effectively with multiple project team members and consultants.
