Designer II / Building Enclosure

Wessling Architects, PLLC. is a full-service architectural Firm based in Braintree, MA, with a broad level of experience and a long track record of success in Architecture, Historic Building Restoration, Interior Design, and Building Enclosure Consulting.

We are looking for a Designer II to join our Building Enclosure Consulting team.

This will be a Full Time, Salary Paid position. Attendance in the office is mandatory (this is not a remote position). The typical office work hours are between 8:30 AM and 5:00PM, Monday through Friday. There is flexibility with the start and end times. The position will require 40 hours per week.

REQUIRED SKILLS

· Five-year accredited bachelor’s degree in architecture, or equivalent engineering degree(s) relating to architecture, and a minimum of six years of recent related architectural building enclosure consulting or similar experience. Non-licensed architectural staff.

· Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, as part of a project team, including assisting with investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s needs.

· Assists Project Managers in providing professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of projects that will vary in size and complexity.

· Independently apply advanced architectural detailing concepts and designs.

· Assists in the preparation of project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data.

· Assists writing reports, specifications, estimates, and calculations.

· Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.

· May provide technical guidance to less experienced architects/architectural staff.

· Experience with AutoCAD.

· Experience with Excel and formulas.

· Experience with Microsoft office suite and Outlook.

· A successful candidate must be organized, pay attention to detail, and have reliable attendance.

· Previous experience working with a Building Enclosure Consulting firm.

· Previous experience with Historic Preservation projects.
