The Challenge:  Original cast stone facade heavily deteriorated due to failing steel support system. 

Project Scope:

• Wessling Architects was hired to help investigate substantial deterioration of the precast concrete front facade. They led the investigation of several potential repair solutions and detailed the final restoration solution. 
• Final scope of work inlcuded the complete removal of the precast concrete facade and backup wall, repair and waterproofing of the exposed steel frame, and reinstallation of a new backup wall and the original precast masonry units. 
• Prepared details for installation of new window units and decorative metal panels. 
• The project followed strict City of Boston preservation standards.
