The Challenge: Complete removal of existing overburden and waterproofing while branch was operational and prior to start of the summer camp program. Adjusted grade heights on multiple levels to eliminate changes in heights without the use of ramps and making the plaza MAAB/ADA compliant.

Project Scope

  • Remove existing concrete topping slab, stairs, planters/walls and playground equipment.

  • Remove existing plaza drains, drain bowls, dirt, landscaping, trees, pergola(s), planter walls, hand rails, concrete curbs/walls, skylight and skylight structure.

  • Furnish and install new plaza drains and continuous waterproofing system.

  • New artificial surfacing system.

  • Installation of new playground equipment.

  • Furnish and install 4’-0” tall perimeter fence for the playground surrounds, 7’-0” tall guardrail equivalent fencing at the perimeter of the plaza and 7’-0” tall chain link fencing at perimeter of mechanical area.

  • New precast capstones atop the plaza edge wall.

  • New elastomeric coating at select concrete wall surfaces.
